it was recently brought to my attention that this past February was the 10th anniversary of 10:19 Caught on Tape by Julie Was Right . . . .
JWR was the first real band i ever belonged to . . . and the reason i moved to new york to make music my life . . .
happy birthday . . . . the guitar solos are still fucking ripping . . . .
that band disbanded many many years ago but out of its ashes arose Superchrist . . . a chicago based metal band fronted by my former band mate and occasional collaborator professor black . . . listen and enjoy . . . recorded and mixed in under fourteen hours . . .

i’ve taken some more organic sounding percussion and paired it with a minimal, more spazzy beat and a stompy, almost brassy sounding synth for the main ‘hook’ . . .
there’s also an atmospheric pad that evolves throughout the course of the track . . .
oh and a sweeties guitar line which has not been recorded yet . . .
i like this track alot . . .still much to be done but going somewhere swell . . .

so my most excellent friends at naked highway have asked me to do a radio edit of my remix of In and Out . . . which won’t be out for a few months . . . .
i guess they’re planning on doing an alternate video cut for my remix . . . which would be totes sweeties . . .
anyways here is the first attempt at a ‘radio edit’ . . . which apparently means the track has to be under 4:00 minutes . . . mine is 3:59 . . .
side note . . . this is a pretty large project with over 42 tracks of audio and midi . . .lots of vocals . . .
side note 2 . . . the more i work with audio the more i’m starting to really hear the difference between high quality audio files and MP3s . . . somethings really get lost in the translation . . . makesme want to buy CDs again . . .

this is something i’ve been writing on and off for about two months . . .
i keep opening it and adding to it . . . most recently today . . .
the end is a disaster but it rambles on rather nicely before the train wreck . . .
a little bit more about the atmosphere than the mighty hook . . .

there are bigger plans for this track . . . the idea now is to nail down the majority of the moving parts . . . still skimpy on melody and mix though . . .
